Joel,
Do you know of anyone using NT and ETrade's streaming, real-time MarketCaster quotes?

That's a great idea, maybe Joel or others that use Ninja could go over those benefits. It certainly would be appreciated.

There's info on the NT site [1] but I'll take a stab at pointing out the obvious...

1) NinjaTrader is a free application for advanced charting, market analytics, system development and trade simulation. It's free until you need to execute a trade and then it's $50/mo. You have a wide choice of market data and execution providers.

TS is $99+/mo.

2) You can use NT with 100s of brokerages.

With TS you are more or less stuck with TS Brokerage.

3) High-performance backtesting and optimization engine.

With TS... You can fill in the blanks.

4) Real-time strategy simulation using live market data or market replay.

I think TS has this.

5) High-performance tick by tick processing for live order submission, change and cancellation.

TS has...

6) Full access to the .NET framework and C# for programmers.

This beats coding DLLs using C++ and the ELKit for TS. It's much less error-prone and I would dare say that .NET programmers can be hired cheaper.

By all means, the above is not unique to NinjaTrader. There's RightEdge, QuantStudio, etc. There's WealthLab, NeoTicker, TradeLab, etc. I would say that only NinjaTrader is both accessible (free!), battle-tested _and_ gives you C#/.NET.
