Yes, I am well aware that the daily closing volume is not a true
representation of actual market conditions. I've tried a few ratios
that use the body combined with the upper and lower shadows, but even
that is a make-believe up/down volume representation.

As for a universal replace function in MS, I'm surprised someone
hasn't come up with some sort of hack that can do a replacement. It
would be nice if Equis would include a similar function, but I doubt
if that's going to happen any time soon.

I hope you understand that you are not really looking at up and

down

volume. Using the common surogate formulas in MS, all volume on a

bar

with a higher price is considered up volume and all volume on a

down

bar is considered down volume. That is hardly the case. If you plot

a

line on top of the volume bars, it's identical to the price line on
the chart. Equis and E-signal don't send up and down volume data so
there's no way to put it on a chart.

You'll have to add it to your charts one at a time or create a new
template and open your symbols with it.

There's no universal replace function in MS.

Never mind. After I shut down and restarted MetaStock, it now

works

correctly.

Now, is there someway I can replace the original volume indicator

on

all of my charts with the new one? I'd hate to have to wipe out

all

of my smart charts just to make this single replacement.

I've created an indicator to show the up volume in green and

the

down

volume in red, but it always only shows the volume bars in red.

Since

mine didn't work, I tried one that I found in this group. It

also

always shows all the bars in red.

Do I need to set on option or flag somewhere so I can use

multiple

colors in an indicator?
