As a follow up question, I found this quote in the archives. Have others
found this to be the case using XP with 2000i?

<just went down to fry's last nite and tried out the sony 1.8 intel
with that great 24 inch screen. while i was impressed with the
screen, i could not get over the shock of how slow the xp operating
system was. unbelievably slow just to do common task, like open
something up. honestly my old 486's with win311 were faster. if this
is progress, forget it. i will take nt4 or win2grand any day, besides
i didn't have to tweak those two.>

Thanks,

dr

Subject: TS5 (2000i) and XPpro

As I am about to replace my oldest computer with a new speedster, it was
noted that Win2KPro is not available now but instead the choices are WinXP
or WinXPpro for the hardware configuration I am looking at. One obviously
should get the latter in hopes of the least problems with TS5, but I am
wondering if any that have used both Win2Kpro and WinXPpro would give a
comparison relative to the functionality (of lack of crashes and downtime)
with TS5.

Thanks,

Don
