I receive that same error message at times too. And i am not running
real-time quotes, just other applications. This makes me believe it has to
be
something in MetaStock using way too much memory. You are luckier than i was
with the message. I had to have Windows shutdown MetaStock for me. MetaStock
wouldn't let me continue doing anything.
Speaking strictly from a computer-related standpoint, I have a P100 with
32MB of RAM. My system frequently has to access virtual memory (disk
space) in order to handle the load. Windows 95 and it's applications use
alot of memory because of the GUI and OOP properties assocated with every
object. I would first check the amount of disk space you have available
on your virtual memory drive (it typically is C:). Make sure you have at
least 50-100MB free.

Some other alternatives are to get the program called "Memory Monitor"
from http://www.shareware.com or "NetMedic" from the same place. Use
these programs only for analysis.

Further improvements in memory usage would be to examine your Startup
folder and remove all but the necessary programs. Finally, upgrade your
RAM. 48MB is alot, but the demand will always be increasing. Memory is
affordable, but I don't know what else to tell y

To all: As far as processor improvements are concerned. Our consultant
once told me that "all computers wait at the same speed". It's funny, but
very true.

Hope this helps!
