Re: [RT] Beware! Hquotes.com

PureBytes Links

Trading Reference Links

Hi Alex,

Thanx for the link. I've been looking for some kind (any kind) of
explanation for 2 weeks now.

I don't want to be "anal" about it, but I must point out that the link
is "conspicuous by its absence", i.e., the ONLY way to get to this
page on their website is to type in the address - manually. There is
NO way to navigate to it from their home page. It is, in effect,
hidden to all except those who "know" the URL.

And this crock about "... not being able to respond to the thousands
of emails ..." is just that - crock. One of the wonderful benefits of
the internet and its infrastructure is the ability to mass mail your
customer base. These folks have the email addresses of all of their
customers, and if they wanted to be "upfront" about the problem they
could have easily - VERY easily - sent an announcement to all of their
customers "fessing up" the problem and pointing us to the hidden web
page link. Of course, for them to do that, they'd have to be serious
about customer service.

As you can see, I'm in no mode to empathize with Hquote.com's
position. Again I say, BEWARE Hquotes.com - it is not a vendor you
want to do business with.

As far as alternative data sources, I appreciate the recommendation,
but I've already "worked around" the issue. I'm just steamed that
after plying the internet for over 6 years (since early '96), I
finally got burned.

Regards,

Michael
