Re: good computers

Here are the results to my good computer/bad computer
inquiry:

I received 17 e-mails on and off the list. From that
sampling, two things definitely stood out. The first is that
Dell has to have the most devoted, satisfied, and enthusiastic
group of users around. I'm definitely impressed. Ten people
recommended Dell. One or two of those mentioned Dell
alongside a couple of other computers to consider, so I still
count those as being in the Dell plus column. The other thing
that stood out is that four people made it a point to steer me
away from Compaq, relating problems that I certainly would not
want to go through. The second most recommended machine was
more or less a tie between Micron and the increasingly popular
was "roll your own" brand. I think I'll fire the later of
those up in a couple of years if I can wait that long.
Looking at those pc hardware sites set my heart aflutter, so
I'll have to keep myself distracted for the time being. <g>
Several other computers were recommended once: HP, IBM,
Gateway, Quantex, and NEC.

I tried to thank everyone individually with the exception of
one or two whom I thanked on the list. If I missed someone,
please accept my apologies and thanks now.

THANK YOU!

Regards,
Ken
