Well, Herman, some new properties are attractive, some other not.
This is the main risk of the creator. In my opinion, one should write
first a multi line code, repeating the same procedure and then,
probably ask for a more elegant "for loop". See the recent "~RankY"
proposal. I posted a solution to some request. The repetitions in
this code were obvious. After the use of this code [note that it is
working, it is ready-to-use, it is not a hint] someone may ask for a
shorter one. This procedure will explain the use of "for loop".
Hints like "why donīt you use a for loop", believe me, are totally
useless to many readers/users with no previous experience. If you
believe you can write a *working* code, shorter, more elegant and,
perhaps more comprehensive and expressive, then just do it. This will
be creative, educative and help the others to make a step forward. If
you really believe that the introduction of "for loop" is great, help
people with some examples. I know it is time consuming, but, simple
hints produce no result when we speak for unknown new topics.
I hope these lines will help you understand why many people have not
tried the looping functions, do not blame on them [including myself
of course]. Do not forget that the list is grateful to you for your
contributions [including me first !!]
