Hmm. I came at it from another direction. I already knew how to
program in C, C++, Java, Fortran, Visual Basic, etc., and had been
developing trading strategies for many years using those languages
before I got tradestation.

My conclusion is: I never want to go back to rolling my own C/C++
applications for trading. HOWEVER, TradeStation has limitations.

The solution is to use some other trading software. Like WealthLab,
or another one that the developer introduced to me but didn't want
me to talk about, that uses C++ sytanx. Those do *not* have the
limitations of TradeStation, and they relieve you from the arduous
task of designing all the low-level crap for a custom application.
