Just after booting the new PC you should see a DOS screen that lists the
basic system resources. Hit the "Pause" key and make sure there is at
least one number listed next to "Parallel Ports" (probably #378) -- If
there is more than one number, you have more than one Parallel Port and the
Dongle may not be plugged into LPT1 --

Make sure that the Male connector on the Dongle is plugged into LPT1 (on
some PCs it's possible to plug the Dongle in backwards - into the Serial Port)

If the above two steps pass, the SSIACT program should find the
Dongle. You need to run SSIACT from a basic DOS prompt-- not from within
Windows -- Boot the PC and interrupt with F8 and select "Dos Prompt", or
exit Windows with the "Restart in DOS Mode" option --

If all this fails, best to go to Control Panel > System > Device Manager --
Highlight the "Ports LPT1" entry and "Remove" it --

Re-boot and Win should find the Port and try to re-install it --

If all this fails, you'll probably need to get a 2nd Parallel Port Card --
Win will assign it LPT2 and you'll need to tell SSIACT that the Dongle is
on LPT2 --
