Hey guys

I have a daytrading system which I would like to write in EasyLanguage. What
kinds of books and other resources can you recommend to improve my learning
time.

thanx, alain

Dear Alain:
They're out of print, but if you can find the TradeStation version 4.0
manual called "EasyLanguage User's Manual", it contains a lot of simple
examples so non-programmers can get started easily. My copy of TS version
2000i came with a 120-page book, "Learning to Use EasyLanguage" which also
contains a lot of simple examples. Another good source is "Using
EasyLanguage 2000" by Putt & Brower; its better than the original edition by
Putt only. Murray Ruggiero sells it. Omega Research published a 14-volume
bimonthly series called "Systems Trading and Development Club" which they
discontinued and then put all 14 volumes on a CD for $250. Each volume had
about a half dozen trading systems with accompanying text explaining how the
system worked and how the code worked, line by line. Some books on trading
systems have examples of EasyLanguage code in them. Take a look at "Trading
Systems and Methods, Third Edition" by Perry Kaufman and "Cybernetic Trading
Strategies" by Ruggiero.
Cordially,
Seth
