Satelliet internet

I have been using 56K phones lines at about 28K.   I can't get DSL or cable
in my area.   I was wondering what company people where using that used
satellite for their internet and how they liked it.  Also what would you say
is the average speed you get and if rain effects it much or at all?

   Any other info about this would be very helpfull.  Looking to change
soon.
