<span
style='font-size:10.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial'>

<span
style='font-size:10.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial'>I agree
with your assessment 99%. There *is*
one support person, Lynn, who is nothing short of a genius. I have always had
excellent results when I am able to contact him. He has always followed through
with promises. If he said he was going to send me something at a later date, it
always showed up, etc.

<span
style='font-size:10.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial'>I also had
a good experience with a Tech named Patrick. He was very diligent in finding a
conversion bug in Downloader.

<span
style='font-size:10.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial'>

<span
style='font-size:10.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial'>OTOH, I recently
called a tech…I’ll call him “Bob”, with a problem. He said he needed to do some
research and testing and would get back to me, either later in the day, or the
following day. After no response for 2 days I called back. “Bob” answered the
call. I asked what he had found. He didn’t even remember talking to me. After I
refreshed his memory he said he said he had gotten busy the day before and hadn’t
had time to do the testing but would definitely do some testing and get back to
me….that was about 3 weeks ago. I definitely have a problem with attitudes like
that. I paid for the call, and waited in the queue for service. When a tech
answers my call, it’s my time. If there is testing or quick research that needs
done, then do it while I’m on the phone, especially if I’m willing to sit there
while paying for the call. In “Bob’s” case, he obviously closed the call as a
success and when about his business (it sounded like he was eating during one
call).

<span
style='font-size:10.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial'>

<span
style='font-size:10.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial'>The sad
part is, that people like “Bob” usually get the recognition for “solving” and
closing many calls, while guys like Lynn (yes, Lynn is a guy) who takes the
time and does a superb job gets very little or none.

<span
style='font-size:10.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial'>

<span
style='font-size:10.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial'>I’ve
always said I was going to wait for the next Super release of Metastock
(Release 8?) and see if they fix some of the ongoing problems and limitations
of the current Metastock. However, I don’t see how they can fix their
substandard support. I have been closely following the progress of a competing
product called Amibroker. The author is very responsive to suggestions and has
a published release schedule laid out through he first quarter of next year. So
far he has met or exceeded all of his deadlines. At the end of this year, he is
going to release a Real Time version and in March/April of 2002 he is going to
rewrite the charting engine. The charting engine is the only real weakness,
other than no real time version, that I can see in the product. Once that happens,
he should have a product that we all wish Metastock was (or could have been).

<span
style='font-size:10.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial'>The only
way Equis will wake up and face their problems is by having a competitor start siphoning
off their business and having satisfied users of the new software sing it’s praises.
I have a lot of time and money invested in Metastock, but with Amibroker
showing so much promise, I’m going to have to consider it as an alternative.
