The slope or rate of change in ADX is an effective way to measure the
strength of a trend at various times.  The change from its absolute level
is also important.  Chuck LeBeau has done quite a bit of work on this
and wrote a good article for Futures Magazine a while back.  I can find
the issue details, if you wish.  There is probably an article or two in the
Bulletins section of his website http://www.traderclub.com/
