No, the conventional Macd involves the 9 EMA as the trigger.  What you
describe is Mov(C,12,E)-Mov(C,26,E).  Format this in Histogram form
and when it crosses the 0 line it is triggered.  This is the formula
that FastTrack calls Accutrack and I refer to as Appeltrack to give
credit to the father of the Macd, George Appel.  This works best when
applied to Comparative Strength Lines and not individual securities.
