RE: IRL Additional Remarks

My understanding is Primate is capable of downloading data in Metastock format and appending that data directly to all folders in the computer which have Metastock data. Also it can download full files on stocks you wish to begin following. My friend has used it in this manner for over a year. In other words it gets the data into the Metastock program for functional use. If you are using Primate and are having trouble with your Metastock system you may wish to quiz them.

I do not think the IRL program needs to interface with the Primate source but it needs Metastock as I use it and its particular folders of data that you wish to use for indices. My friend does not as yet use IRL.

Perhaps if you could supply detail information on the steps you go through and the results I may be able to provide suggestions. Also others of this group using IRL successfully may read the forthcoming dialog and wish to supply suggestions. Good luck!

John,
I purchased the IRL to use it as it was intended to be used. I use
Quote Monkey (Primate) but the IRL cannot be used with Quote Monkey. After
spinning my wheels for days, the conclusion I came to is that Quote Monkey
cannot read MetaStock 6.0 data. You can however use MetaStock 5.0 with Quote
Monkey. If your friend is using MetaStock 6.0 and has no problems in using
the IRL, I would certainly be interested in how he does it.
