Ira-
    Thanks for a valuable
posting.
I had accumulated a lot of
junk that I didn't know about.  That told me how to clean it
out.
    I recommend that others on
the list take another look at the second paragraph below.  The instructions
might seem formidable, but they really aren't.  A little cleaning could do
wonders.

Here is where you can start.  This is a
series of moves on your computer to eliminate any of the programs you are not
using from your start up program.  That could be part of your problem.
You have a lot of programs working in the background.  This set of
instructions should work on Win 95 and Win 98.  I am using Win98,

Click on start| Program | accessories | System
Tools | System info| Software Environment | Start up program | tools | System
Configuration | then click on the tab that says Start Up.  Now uncheck
every program that you are not using. The only ones that I have checked are
Tool Bar Display, Scan Registry and System tray.

I tend to put a lot of junk on my PC and it
seems to of clogged up my registry, causing my PC to run very slowly. It has
a very hard time running TS 2000i during the day, often using 100% of my
computers resoursces, causing my chart that uses a big ELS study to
lag.  I downloaded a program that checks the registry and it found
literally hundreds of dead links and programs. I am worried about messing
with this, can anyone suggest a program or method to fix this? Or any other
ways to make my PC run better?
