Hello Jan,
Answering the why question is simple, enjoyment and money. Some
folks could continue without the enjoyment and I guess a few could
continue for awhile without making money. I require both.
Other than that I would highly recommend reading the current issue
of SFO Magazine. Almost every article deals with the questions
you're asking and is well worth reading
