Re: Why bad realtime results?

Hello,

myself and a few others have posted this in the past years ago. once
was due to a signal on the close. the last price is the real time
last recorded price. minutes latter a settlement price is recorded
for that market, when that happens the official closing price may be
and most likely is different from the last recorded price from the real
time feed. the last price in the session is replaced by the
settlement price.

so in effect you could have a signal on the closing bar say hourly,
close that workspace wait about twenty minutes after the close of that
market. reopen that workspace and see that now there is no signal on
the closing hourly bar. of course i know this because i had the i
lost teach it to me on super bowl weekend fri in 97 via 30 yr bnds.

other reasons for arrows appearing and disappearing can be traced to
bad data, bad methodology, bad programming, use of built in stop
features, needing glasses - well ok you get the idea. when in doubt
you can't beat a print log to tell you whats going on.
