Perhaps I should answer this one. "Trade Equity" (TE) is a family of equity curve indicators and
explorations into which you can plug your own trading system entry and exit code. A series of four
explorations based around each primary indicator can report up to a total of 24 statistics (6 per
exploration) across the database under test. These reports are best copied to Excel to summarise
individual results to get overall performance.

There are four primary indicators for MS 6.52, and dll enhanced versions for MS 7.0 and above.
Trade Equity LE (long positions, equal position size)
Trade Equity LC (long positions, compounding position size)
Trade Equity SE (short positions, equal position size)
Trade Equity SC (short positions, compounding position size)

Each indicator can be used with a "display module" to plot any one of about 12 different stats right
on a chart.

Entry and exit code can be OHLC or stop price based, or a mixture of the two.

Intraday entry and exit points can be used with EOD data but not on successive bars. In my
experience TE works on any periodicy. All that's required is for copies of the explorations to be
set to that periodicy.

None of the code is password protected and so it can be checked or changed by anyone with MFL
skills.

Trade Equity does not itself provide protective stop capability but it caters for external code
(PREV or dll based) that can perform these functions. Trade Equity LE (and SE) supports a user
defined position size (number of shares or percentage of available equity) but can not limit the
number of open positions across a database.

A just released feature makes limited optimisation available when several copies of exploration 1
are run and the option setting is incremented for each exploration.

Trade Equity is not a substitute for TradeSim and does not pretend to be. What it does do is provide
a multiple issue testing capability for MS 7.22 and below, and a test tool for MS 8.01 that enters
and exits trades as directed by your code rather than by some whim of the broker module. Some basic
work will be required with Excel to make the best use of Trade Equity.
