Company Press Release (shortened version)

        Premium Data, Powerful Analytics
Now Work Together in MetaStock Professional for Reuters

SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 6, 1998--

MetaStock(R) Professional now works for real-time data with the Reuters Terminal
using the Reuters DDE Server (IDNDDE).

Professional traders can now combine the comprehensive premium data of
the Reuters Terminal with the powerful analytics of MetaStock
Professional for Reuters to gain a competitive edge.

For years, Equis(R) International Inc. (a Reuters company) has sold a
real-time version of MetaStock that works with DBC Signal. Current
versions of MetaStock have more than 70,000 users all over the world.
The release of MetaStock Professional for Reuters allows even more
professionals than before to use MetaStock's charting and analysis
capabilities. Over 457,000 people worldwide use Reuters information
products.

MetaStock Professional for Reuters previously worked with the Reuters
Terminal only on an end-of-day basis with the Reuters Time Series (TS1)
database.

``Real-time capability was our most requested feature for the new
version,'' says MetaStock for Reuters product manager Brian Muir. ``Many
Reuters Terminal customers who are serious about technical analysis have
been eagerly awaiting this release. MetaStock Professional for Reuters
gives them advanced analytics like system testing with optimization and
comparison functions, custom formula building, screening, ranking, and
alerts.''

Seamless Integration with Reuters Terminal

MetaStock Professional for Reuters integrates smoothly and intuitively
with the Reuters Terminal. For example, to display a chart, traders can
simply select the Reuters Instrument Code (RIC) of the instrument they
wish to chart. To look at another chart, they just type the RIC to
quickly display the new chart onscreen.

MetaStock was originally conceived over a decade ago for analyzing
stocks, and Equis developers have consistently increased its
capabilities since then. MetaStock is now adept at analyzing
commodities, futures, indices, currencies, options, mutual funds, bonds,
and other instruments. Traders can plot and analyze any data from the
Reuters Terminal with an RIC, as long as it is coming from the Reuters
IDNDDE.

The DownLoader for Reuters Terminal also comes with MetaStock
Professional for Reuters. The DownLoader allows customers to collect and
locally store TS1 history for easy viewing in MetaStock Professional for
Reuters. Professional traders who like to back-test trading systems on
historical data will appreciate this capability.

Hot Analytics, Hot Technology--Made Easy

``With MetaStock Professional for Reuters, we want to give elite
professional traders the powerful analytics they need to make the best
possible decisions,'' says Equis founder and president Steve Achelis.
``At the same time, we're actively taking advantage of the latest
software technologies, including designing our software as a full 32-bit
program with multi-threading and full OLE support.

``And we put a lot of effort into making MetaStock easy to use with
Click-and-Pick and Drag-and-Drop commands. As a result, MetaStock
Professional for Reuters meets our rigorous standards for quality
software, and we're proud to make it available for professional traders
worldwide.''

MetaStock Professional for Reuters is the only technical analysis
program in the world and the only program for the Reuters Terminal that
is certified 100% Microsoft Office Compatible, so Reuters Terminal users
who use Microsoft Word and Excel will quickly learn how to use the
program. And it can even have live links with Word and Excel using OLE
2.0 technology (object linking and embedding).

MetaStock Professional for Reuters is also the only technical analysis
program in the world and the only program for the Reuters Terminal that
is certified Windows 95 and NT 4.0 compatible. It also works well with
Windows 98.
