I had problems with both the Colorgraphic Predator Pro and the Nvidia card
you have.  I have had success with a Matrox G550.  The problems I had with
the first two were that the video "card" onboard my motherboard wasn't
automatically disabling in the presence of an external video card.   Give
Matrox a try.
