Re: IB fined $230,000 by NASD

Had a bad day, did we?

IB doesn't charge for phone calls, I should know, I've made a few over the
years. If your system or your ISP screws up, then they'll charge you the $30
to place an order manually. Cancellations of all open orders are still free
to my knowledge. Seems fair enough to me. It only takes 6 R/Ts a day roughly
to make up the $30.

In the 2-3 years that I've been with IB, I've never once had to pay the $30.
Now, I wonder "what actual commissions [am I] paying then ????" :)

SmartAss Interactive Brokers fined $230,000 by NASD in April 2002 for
multiple violations . . .

Full article pg. 20, Active Trader, July 2002 issue

As they say, if the price is that low ($4.80 per RT) it's probably too good
to be true --- next time the IB network goes down and you have to try to
call in by phone to check your order while the market is going against you .
. . and IB charges you $30 for phone calls . . . what actual commissions are
you paying then ????
