OFF TOPIC: unplugged CD-ROM on W2k

Hello omega-list,

  Being new to Windows 2000 I experimented (i.e., irresponbibly
  tinkered) with the "pplug/eject hardware"  icon in the taskbar.  In
  so doing I apparently unplugged my Iomea Zip drive and my internal
  CD-ROM.  I can't seem to get them plugge in again.  Install new
  hardware routine doesn't locate them.  How do I get them back to
  functioning?  thanks.
