  Not sure about having multiple motherboards etc. but I do know many people
who have multiple computers and have just one mouse and keyboard controlling
all of them.  You can of course also partion large harddrives  and make it
like having 2 or 3 drives instead of one on the computers.
  Then for someone wanting to do the exact opposite.  You can hook 2
keyboards and 2 mouse to one computer and 2 people can use it at the same
time using different programs as if you have 2 complete separate computers.
We have on like that.  2 people can use one computer.
