[EquisMetaStock Group] Limits of an indicator

Hi every body

I would like to say that I’m satisfy with my trading system, but for the purpose of enhancement, as an example, I’m using Aroon indicator, time period 9 for both up and down, would ask a question;

What are the criteria to determine the limits of an indicator?

It is clear to me that might this be a kind of secrete, since no body would like to publish his trading system to any body, but herein I’m talking about general indicator not a custom made one.
