John,

The formula primer link can be found in the "links" section. Go 
there and see if it helps. Also check the help file in metastock 
when you have it open. 

I believe the best way to do what you want is in the explorer. Once 
your exploration is done you can then click on the stocks that it 
finds.

Open the explorer window. You should find some ready made 
explorations. Open them to see how they are built. In your case you 
will be building your own exploration. Just click on "new" and the 
windows will open up showing what is available and what is needed.
