Hello Mohammed,
you've done a terrific job with your command line tools.
i wanted to report some behaviour, have some clarification.
(please note i am using them under linux):
a) too large imput ASCII files would cause segfault.
b) is it ok for the tool when in append or replace and data is
partially already present in metastock files to create some extra
files which have to be merged by metastock, and then lay around
(unless you remove them either manually or with 'test' feature from
the downloader). How can I avoid this behaviour ? Are the extra .DAT
files necessary (shall i leave them there ?) ? therefore the maximum
number of securities i can have in a single folder is 128 ? (the
conversion tool limit is 256, but since the tool itself wants another
128 DAT files, i should better avoid more than 128 securities per
folder - am i correct ?)
c) again, using the tool under linux (ascii import on 'recordreplace'
mode on already existing securities i get :
Error::size number of bytes not returned
r1 = 0 a1 = 28
Error::size number of bytes not returned
r1 = 0 a1 = 28
....................
(but in the end all _seems_ working)
