There was this article too recently, titled 'Reduced silver stockpiles could
boost price':

I am not an expert on precious metals but I wouldn't be surprised if the
prices are frequently manipulated for the benefit of those with deep
pockets. In the long term, prices of course follow the fundamentals but in
the short term anything is possible. It is also worth noting that shares of
Pan American silver (PAAS) recently broke out to 1 year high on huge volume
and are currently in a pullback.

Just my 2 'silver' cents worth.
