Oh, if I could only be a turtle...

To all members of the MetaStock ListServe:
I am having trouble downloading files from our group. I successfully
downloaded the DOW_BOO!.EXE file and uncompressed it using PKUNZIP.EXE. I
usually will not accept an executable. However, because this EXE was in
PKZIP'ed format, I simply used this command:

PKUNZIP DOW_BOO!.EXE

This way, all the work is done by my executable. DOW_BOO!.EXE was only used
for data. Because it was in MS Word format however, I was unable to read it
even using QuickView Plus v3.0.3. I don't own MS Word. However, it's not a
good idea to load an unknown file into MS Word because of macro viruses.

I was unsuccessful in downloading the 87crashc.mim file. It was either
corrupted or worse. Other AOL users, if you had trouble with this file let
me know please.

Perhaps we should agree on guidelines for future downloads. May I suggest
these:
1. Only use standard graphics formats: GIF, BMP, or JPG. No other formats,
such as Microsoft or Corel, should be used. These are already compressed, so
zipping 1 is unnecessary.

2. If sending more than one graphics file, use PKZIP to combine them into
one ZIP file. Please create a ZIP file and not a self-extracting file.
PKUNZIP.EXE is available on the Equis web site for download. A ZIP file can
also be used to contain a text file for explaining what's in 1 or more
graphics files.

Please follow these simple guidelines for attaching files please.

Thank you,
Daniel Martinez
