Re: Better Descriptions of RTD Indices?

PureBytes Links

Trading Reference Links

(This feels like a newbie question to me, but I can't find the answer on
the Internet and the tech support guys at Routers were no help whatsoever.)

Q: Where can I find more detailed descriptions of the indices provided by
Reuters Trend DataLink?

Here are some examples of my problem: Using the Downloader, I select
File/New/Security and press the "Look Up" button. I then select "Indices
(RTD Symbols)" and get this big list of indices with "Name", "Symbol" and
"Exchange" columns. (So far, so good.)

Problem #1:
So now I scroll down and spot "FED FUNDS AVERAGE" only there are TWO of
them. The symbol for one is ".FFY" and the other is ".FTY" The "Exchange"
for both is "NYS" They contain different data. What is the difference?
Where can I find that information?

Problem #2:
There are 22 indices labelled "JAPANESE YEN" What are the differences?
Where can I find that info?

Problem #3:
What the heck is the "ZXB INDEX" (just to pick one at random)? Where can I
find that info?

So my general problem is that the descriptions provided with the index
symbols are not sufficient. Where can I get more detailed info.

Things I already tried:
================
* Lots of Internet sites have information about stock symbols, but none of
them seem to use the Reuters' symbols. For example most of them want use
to use "$INDU" as the Dow Jones Industrial Average symbol, but Reuters uses
".DJI" None of the sites I tried understood ".FFY" or ".ZXB"

* I called Reuters tech support and they said "Call the Exchange or your
Broker" - not useful.

Any pointers would be _greatly_ appreciated. Thanks in advance,
Chip
