* High-flying Brazilian telephone holding TELECOMMUNICAOES
BRASILEIRAS SA tumbled in early trade, hit by profit-taking and
currency jitters, traders and analysts said. Traders and
analysts said Telebras had been weighed down in part by rumors
that Brazil would devalue its currency and by profit-taking
after a strong run. Telebras, a darling among investors, has
risen from 76.50 at the end of 1996, and hit a high of 169
Thursday. "The worst rumor is devaluation after what's happened
in the Far East markets," said Ray Kelly, Latin America

Mr Kobetitsch is write. Brazil have nothing to do with what goes on in
Asia. There is a Monetary Reserve for more than 9 monthes of imports, and
the normal one is for 3 monthes. No devaluation is ieither expected or
needed in Brazil. Can it be only a big correction?
Whar does technical analisis has to say about?
