Like I said at the T&C board, you guys buy em, get the bugs out, get the mortality up and I’ll then think about dumping my 335i for one.  But don’t sic Ralph Nader on me to be REQUIRED to buy one.

Now the socialist engineering brain trust scam I really like is light rail.  Charlotte just put in a light rail spur that covers 6 miles maybe.  Was supposed to cost $900M with most paid by the Feds.  Ended up costing $5B, a large portion of which is paid by Charlotte.  I was able to see it, by accident, one Friday afternoon last summer.  About four cars behind the very sleek engine car.  But there were about a same number of people on it at 3 pm….a near peak hour.  I’d like to see a payback on that deal….particularly since I don’t live in Charlotte Mick and don’t have to pay for it (hmmm some of my Fed tax dollars do).  Oh well.

Geez people, are you that uninformed really ???

Air car used compressed air and the power generated by the air DECOMPRESSING AND EXPANDING to do work (it is essentially like letting air out of a ballon and the ballon flys forward).

Hydrogen is a gas but it is used as a FUEL in a power cell to generate electricity by chemically combining the hydrogen with oxygen taken from the atmosphere which yields water + electrons (electricity).  The electricity is then used to power electric motor that powers the car.

Gold and Lead are both solids, that makes the as much alike as Compressed Air and Hydrogen being gases.

Also, I think the range for the compressed air car is incorrectly stated.  The air pressure needed to get 340 litres of air to power a car for 125 miles would be mega extreme and I don't think the containment vessel nor the compressor to fill it could be produced for anything near economic prices.  The compressed air vehicle I've heard about I think was more like 25 mile range.  Useful but limited.

What will the hydrogen car be?  Isn't it also compressed gas?  With every new technology there is a starting point.  1903 cars don't look like a Hummer either.  Evolution works wonders for everything except the human being.

I’d feel safe riding around in that golf cart with a tin can bent around it (NOT) when I look up at the stoplight to a Hummer.  That thing makes the Corvair look like a Sherman tank.  Do you know how to spell Ralph Nader?  My understanding is the US standards for safety inhibit if not prohibit the compressed gas technologies.

This is the same company who, a few months back, came out with a car that costs only $2,500.00 new

(but it's not available in the US, why does that not surprise me?).

A non polluting vehicle that eliminates the reason to buy gasoline from off shore companies. How bad is that?

AMAZING AIR CAR!

The Compressed Air Car developed by Motor Development International (MDI) Founder Guy Negre might be the best thing to have happened to the motor engine in years.

The $12,700 CityCAT, one of the planned Air Car models, can hit 68 mph and has a range of 125 miles. It will take only a few minutes for the CityCAT to refuel at gas stations equipped with custom air compressor units. MDI says it should cost only around $2 to fill the car up with 340 liters of air!

The Air Car will be starting production relatively soon, thanks to India's TATA Motors. Forget corn! There's fuel, there's renewable fuel, and then there's user-renewable fuel! What can be better than air?

Check it out yourself and see - What A Cool Car! Enjoy! :)

This six-seater taxi should be available in India this year -2008!
