As a public demonstration of the Pivot Trading
Methodology, I entered and just completed the CNBC Million Dollar stock trading
contest.
Although the trading rules were not favorable to
the Pivot Trading methodology (long trades only with entries and exits at day
closing prices)the trading results were as follows:
75 of 90 trades profitable (83.33%)
4.14% ROI over a ten week period.for an equivalent yearly ROI 0f 21.52%.
This was considerably below the documented long
term average return of about 3 % per month or 36% per year for the
methodology.
This performance, of course, pales in comparison to
the weekly winners of the challenge who had over 100% return by betting all on a
small portfolio and lucking out.
Never the less, my goal of demonstrating the
consistent performance of the Pivot Trading methodology was
achieved.
