I would also tend to agree. I have both for redundancy. DSL tends to be as reliable as your telephone service (very good) and Cable Internet as reliable as your cable TV service (so-so).
Cable companies think nothing of taking down the service without notice for repair work and do not understand the concept of "mission critical". But most of the time my cable Internet is faster where I live so I tend to use it when I can.
