Also, look closely at eBay for these laptops now. You can find them with 
two and three years of quality warrantee left and get the same box for 1/2 
the price you'd expect if you take a week or so to pick through the listings.

I bought a loaded 8600 with a long running warrantee and it was loaded with 
software and I paid less than $1000! If you're cautious, there are 
phenomenal deals and since they carry the warrantee, there's no down side...

Just my 2 cents.
