I would recommend Norton System Works Pro. It has made changes to my
registry with no problems. You can buy it on sale at various times
at Best Buy, and Circuit City, or new in the box on a place like Ebay.
Delete files and cookies on a regular basis in your browser.
Run Ad-aware to remove spyware.
If you have stuff like Realplayer, it runs on start-up.
Remove start-up programs you don't use. If you have donwloaded stuff
like Bearshare, weather bugs, etc., there is usually spyware or
adware attatched.
Use the uninstall or refer to the website to remove junk programs.
Memory is real cheap now, just bought 256 MB for $5.00 with rebates.
Or, reformat and start over, sometimes the best solution.
