Norton System Works 2000.  I dont think that is the
problem in that I uninstalled all of the Norton stuff (i.e. Anti Virus,
Utilities, etc.) prior to installing the upgraded 2002 verision.

Wow, so you had infected files on your
system that Norton 2000 didn't catch????????  If that's the case, any
guesses as to why, ie, was it something that you did or didn't do?  I run
NSW 2001 and haven't had any problems.  NAV has intercepted a wide
range of nasties. I'm trying to guage whether I might have misplaced
confidence.  Part of my daily routine before I start my day is to access
Norton's site to pick up the newest virus .dat file if there is one.
That may have protected me as well.  I also monitor a number of sources
of virus info.  Whenever, a virus name surfaces, I check my AV .dat to
see if it's covered and then I go to Norton and McAfee's alert and database
pages to see what they have to say about the virus in question.

I think what happened is that during the
uninstall of some old/unused programs that I had on my system every once in a
while I would get a "this file is not accessed by any programs, would you like
to remove", I may have deleted the .dll file by accident.  By the way I
  am running Win98SE.

Hmm, maybe someone can give you a copy
of the missing file(s).  What version of Office are you running and
what's the file name?  Maybe I can help.
