RE: [RT] Sector Funds

Hello Earl,

I have been pursuing Sector analysis for quite a while now. The journey
started with what may have been one of the first practitioners of sector
ranking, Mark Pankin. I hear he learned it from someone else, but I don't
have that name handy.

I believe Mark Pankin has moved on to Rydex funds (in addition to Fidelity)
to allow more flexibility in timing without the 'under 30 day hold' penalty.

Nelson Freeburg took Pankin's ideas and added an overall Market Timing
component. This increased historic returns by 2-4% a year. That is the
program I deployed using Rydex funds a couple of years ago. I don't do that
program any more, having moved on to other ideas that held more promise.

That lead next to FastTrack. FastTrack is an interesting program that works
like nothing else I have. The learning curve was interesting and lead to
other add-on programs. For Mutual Funds, this has been very valuable. One of
the add-on programs is called FastBreak. It is an optimization program and
they have several Sector strategies that use a subset of all available
funds. You can read about them on the Strategies page. Interesting ideas.

I have found the FastTrack community one of the most generous groups of
sophisticated real money users out there. Not burning up the world,
daytrading. Just grinding out solid returns that let you work on your golf
game. Open, honest, little ego. Nice.

Lastly, I heard Henry Ford of Pitbull fame has some Sector Fund
programs/information. I haven't pursued it, but a Webferret search might
pull it up.

Hope this helps.

Good trading,
Mark

Subject: [RT] Sector Funds

With the major indexes in such a mess, it looks like a good time to move
fund investments from index funds to sector funds. I'd like to
supplement my own technical analysis with ideas/recommendations from
others. Any recommendations for a good web site or newsletter
specializing in trading recommendations (with proven track record) for
either the Fidelity Select funds or the new Exchange Traded Funds?

Earl
