[RT] MKT: State of the nation

2 down, 2 to go.

Meantime, from Reuters, the tale told by 2
headlines:

Pfizer operating income rises 30 percent (GB's snide: Rises, as in
Fact).

Nortel expects to grow earnings per share from operations growing in the 30
to 35 percent range.

(GB's snide: EXPECTS to grow, as in "forward looking statements" as in
"past performance is no guarantee of future results" - as in the same company
said "expecting to grow business to $12 billion" and now says, "oh by the
way we're on track to grow to $10 billion").

A sedate drug company's earnings growth now equal to or
greater than a fiber optic company?

The state of the nation is confused, indeed.

I can see why there is good relative strength  in
the DRG charts. Growth managers are buying the other shoe for the growth foot:
Pharma's.

Expect, a few weeks/months down the road, people pushing drugs
on tv.

That will be when the drugs peak.

Just as Energy peaked recently.

Just as techs peaked when they could find nothing else to
buy/recommend that other people buy.

Just as Optical or Bust was the battle cry a few weeks after
Dot Bombs exploded.

As the old Cathay Pacific print ad once said,

"Celebrating a world where a French Open champion is an
Amercan named Chang".

Gitanshu

PS: The "and then there were 2" reference?

Bubbles.
As in Storage.
As in Biotech.
