Interbank spot forex market usually runs from 8am NZST Monday morning to NY
close (approx 5pm Fri) 24 hrs a day. Stops should be able to be placed and
executed any time during the trading week as your broker should run a 24hr
desk. Some trading may be done during the weekend by individual banks who
can find buyers/sellers willing to trade, but most brokerages are closed
during that time unless significant events are happening that warrants them
trading. The possibility does exist that if a price gaps through your stop
over the weekend while your broker is not trading then your stop won't be
filled although you can leave instructions to fill the stop (albeit at a
worse fill) as soon as trading commences.
