PowerST is a more specialized product directed towards advanced trading
strategy researchers. It is a more technical product, based upon C++, with
an emphasis on programmability as well as strategy testing capability.

The goal is not to be a mass market commercial product. Rather, the goal
is to work individually with each customer to fulfill their strategy
testing needs. For example, many new PowerST customers request some amount
of customization or custom programming. The high price yields some amount
of exclusivity. Every PowerST customer has direct access to the guy that
actually wrote the software (myself) and the ability to influence product
features.

I am not claiming that the software is 25 times better than say a product
priced at $1,000. However, there are people willing to pay a premium for
advanced capability and personal support, as well as customization if
needed. That is the market that PowerST is directed towards. It is the
business model chosen for PowerST.

This is discussed in more detail within the www.PowerST.com web site.

I understand that the pricing level is more than most people are willing
or able to spend. That's ok. The goal is not to be a mass market product.

It was a customer who first suggested this business level pricing business
model, in the late 2004 early 2005 time frame. After some experience with
the software he felt the price was justified and that there is a
marketplace for this kind of business level strategy testing product.
Experience since then has been that he was correct.

Since you asked... :-)
