For a Linux newbie, would you recommend opensuse?

Alternative to running VMware is to run any Linux
version. VM is built into all Linux kernels these
days.

See http://www.opensuse.org/
or any other Linux.

Using a Linux host, you can run as many TradeStation
guests that you may desire. Each guest takes about 1GB
of memory and 2% performance hit.

The Linux versions are free.
