fwiw, i've used sygates personal firewall (free) for several years w/ no
issues i have ever detected.
it's been so long since i used esignal, i can't remember if i had the sygate
then or not, but i suspect i did.
very ez to configure. alerts you when incoming or outgoing traffic needs
your permission.
i've never to my knowledge been "compromised".. and i don't use any
anti-virus on this partition.
(i do on another partition, allowing me the ability to scan all partitions
manually)
