Sounds like you might try emptying the Recycle Bin...until you do, the
"trash" is still on your drive.

Subject: OT:Disk Cleanup of WinXP

Hi List:

This is going to sound stupid but what the heck...

I have this laptop with WinXPpro.
I go to Start>Program>Accessories>SystemTools> disk cleanup.

It says: you can use Disk Cleanup To free up to 354,079kb of disk space.
So I click: OK

Q1. It will go ahead after I give it the go ahead, right?

It just disappeared, the window for DiskCleanup, WITHOUT giving me a
reply
how many space it had freed up for me.

I go ahead and do a DEFRAGMENT. Now this one, I see what is happening.
It
went for an hour.

I somehow decided to go back and click on this DISK CLEANUP again.

Q2: I receive this response:

You can free up to 338,038 KB of disk space and give a list.(well
at
leastit is a smaller number than 354,079kb...:-) When I look down, I
saw
337,114K is in RECYCLE BIN????? I click on VIEW FILES and it is
the
same list that was
shown the first time I click on DiskCLEANUP?

Am I suppose to go to Recycle Bin to manually clean this up? Anyone

know how they choose WHAT to clean up?

Thanks very much!
