Changing the size of partitions shouldn't be done when an OS is loaded as
partitions are maintained at a level below the OS. Partition Manager (PM)
boots from a CD or the hard disk before the OS, or from a floppy. It has a
GUI for those who are intimidated by command line stuff. After changing a
partition on a disk on which Windows is booted from the MBR, check disk or
its equivalent should be run before the OS is loaded to ensure all is ok.

Tom,

Sure if Windows is working ok I use Partition Magic. Works great if
you need to partition or a bunch of other things. I'm sure there are
other partition programs but that is the one I've used for a few years
and it works.
