This is no attempt by anyone. The spam you describe has all the
fingerprints of one of the worms going around. These worms are
designed to send spam to everyone in the infected computer's address
book. Someone on this list is infected with a worm, and doesn't
even know your being spammed.
Lighten up. This is a coincidence. You're feeling unjustly
persecuted, over a problem that affects e-mail boxes worldwide, not
just yours.
