Hello Omega List,
My Celeron 433/ABIT BX6 MoBo was starting to show its age. I was
about to scrap it when I read a piece at Tom's Hardware
http://www17.tomshardware.com/howto/01q4/011005/index.html that
described a way to upgrade to a Celeron 1.4 without a MoBo change. It
uses an adapter put out by www.uprgradeware.com. With virtually no
hitches I upgraded to 1.4 after the close today--total cost $155. I
used www.strattoncomputer.com to get the parts and 10 minutes of
handholding.
The major cost advantage was being able to keep using my 1G of SDRAM
rather than buying a new MoBo and DDRAM.
