Alert Code

Does anyone have any ideas on how to write alert code that will only let the
alert go off once per bar when the indicator its associated with is set to
update on every tick. I want the early warning but not the multiple alerts
and I would rather not add a lower time frame to the charts. Any ideas are
welcome.
