Thank you for those who repplied with their
suggestions.  I have located the source of the I/O
error to be a couple of studies that TS doesn't like. 
Once I deleted them the error no longer showed up. 
Those studies were orginally created for TS4, but they
were verified in TS2000 without a problem. This is
like the discovery of the gene for a rare disease, but
the cure is yet to be found.
