I would *love* to believe that, but I do have reservations. It is not
clear that he will have the breadth or depth of talented people to do a
first-class job of supporting the software - an important part of the
whole, and one where OR falls flat. I'd feel much better if we started to 
see some patient, knowledgeable people responding to the wide array of 
customer needs. 

I really hope Mark does this. If he demonstrates, and soon, both a better
product *and* better support he would be a formidable competitor. Just 
the kind we need :-).

I *do* believe he will listen to traders much better than OR will,
though, so there's hope...

Agreed - I believe TS would be a *much* better product if it were open.

Ummm... I'd have to think about that for a minute or two :-)...

OR has always turned to more and more marketing hype, even if this hype
reduces the software and support quality. They are marketers, and it is
painfully clear that they are not very good at software development and
support. It is not clear they know *how* to do what you say :-). 

However, I do agree there is a great need for some effective
competition....
